How a Referral Works

One form, then we take it from there

1

Send the form

The form below, or the family contacts us and names you. Two or three sentences on what you are seeing is plenty.

2

Intake within 48 hours

We contact the family within 48 hours for the free assessment: a conversation about the student, their school and what is getting in the way. A match proposal follows, usually within a week. If a match will take longer, we tell the family on the call.

3

A progress note back to you

With the family's written consent: a short note after the free assessment (what we propose) and after each monthly parent check-in. Priorities, what the educator is seeing, attendance, what we recommend next.

When a referral fits

  • Grades that do not match the student's ability, with missing or late work the main reason
  • A new ADHD, autism or learning-difference diagnosis, and a family asking what to do at home
  • A 504 plan or IEP in place, and homework still a nightly battle
  • A junior or senior who needs SAT/ACT prep alongside the support you provide

What we do, and what we do not do

We do

  • Executive functioning coaching: planning, organization, follow-through, self-advocacy, from a written plan
  • Subject tutoring in the student's home or online, the same educator every week
  • SAT/ACT prep, one-on-one and strategy-first
  • Work from your recommendations and the supports already in place
  • Coordinate with the school as a liaison, with the family's consent

We do not

  • Diagnose, or do psychological or educational testing
  • Provide therapy or counseling; we work alongside the student's clinicians
  • Represent families in IEP or 504 meetings (we join at the family's invitation)
  • Give medication advice

When the family has funding

If a settlement funds private services, the student has a Regional Center Self-Determination budget, or the family homeschools through a charter, we write the plan in the language the team needs and invoice the way the district, financial management service or charter requires. We are not a certified nonpublic agency or a vendored regional center provider, so settlements that let the family choose a provider and self-directed budgets are the routes that work today. The referral form

About three minutes. We contact the family within 48 hours and let you know when the free assessment is scheduled.

Nothing about the student goes anywhere without the family's consent.
